Broken K-7?

Looking for used Ibanez 7string with tremolo, I've been offered to buy a broken K-7.Technikaly as I know it's a good guitar with mahogany body, lo-pro edge trem and DiMarzio PAF7. It costs about $270 + $100 for broken neck repair. Is it worth the money? And what about K-7 neck profile? Is it thiner or thicker than wizard prestige? Maybe someone have tried this guitar?

For that price, i'd jump on it. How badly is the neck broken? You could always send the neck back to Ibanez and pay get a replacement, and you'd still have a pretty inexpensive K7. Or get a custom aftermarket neck made without an inlay.

The trem alone is worth the money. Get RG 7620 neck of the e-bay and you're in business.

Re: Broken K-7?

$270??? i say its a bargain even if you didnt get the broken neck... Even better you could probably get a nice 7620 neck for it and have a nice guitar without the nasty inlay

Re: Broken K-7?

Well, I guess most people have a different opinion about thid, but Id take the K7 neck over a 7620 neck. I prefer the K7 inlay to plain dots, so if the neck can be properly fixed I would go that way.

Anyway, for that kind of money, I would ve alredy bought it.... with or without the neck. You can get a custom neck beyond your dreams (you ll have to pay accordingly for it), and end up with a superb guitar.

Re: Broken K-7?

Well on this guitar headstock is completely of the neck, the broke goes about under the top-lock nut, the freatboard is not damadged.

Re: Broken K-7?

Even though almost anything can be repaired in a guitar, In this case I would just save the freatboard if you like the inlay (something that can be done) and make a custom neck; or if dont care for the inlay just buy a whole custom neck.
