That one cracked me up, too.
I sent the link to a friend who speaks Japanese, and he told me that "buraito" is "Bright", but since the original Japanese words for bright pertain to say, light levels and visible phenomena, the Japanese just borrowed the word "bright", and changed the phonetics to match the Japanese language, when using "bright" to describe a tonal quality.
Bur-ai-to = Bright
