Anybody ever order a custom from them?
How is there service and stuff?
Did you order online or over the phone?

Re: Carvin?
I've done business with Carvin three times. I've purchased a Legacy Combo, a Legacy Head, and most recently I purchased a CT6C
custom guitar
.
The first two purchases were flawless. Unfortunately my guitar arrived with a a small ding in the neck. Outside of the ding, the guitar was/is amazing. The CT is in the same territory as a PRS, and having played a few expensive PRSes, the CT blows your standard PRS away. The craftsmanship and playability are far superior.
So back to the ding. I contacted Carvin via email. I got a response within a couple hours. I was expecting them to offer me some freebees or some cash back. The customer service guy was of the opinion that I would be more satisfied if they made the guitar perfect
. They sent me a prepayed ups label. I shipped it back, they fixed it, and it's currently on it's way back home to me. One thing that really impressed me was that after my guitar was repaired, Carvin's head
guitar tech
emailed me personally to let me know the status. That's customer service done right.
So, I personally give the quality and customer service high grades. In addition to that - you'll never find a custom guitar of that quality for that price anywhere else.
As far as ordering goes, pretty-much everyone recommends ordering over the phone. It helps to make sure you have all your options correct.

Re: Carvin?
Thanks Dee
. Roughly $1800, but if you take away the gold hardware and non-standard color, your average CT6C (floyd model) with a
quilted maple
top and a standard jaw dropping finish is around $1500.

Re: Carvin?
I ordered a Carvin 727 over the phone, and it is a fantastic guitar. Absolutely my favorite 7, and right there with my SpongeBob 550 as my favorite solidbody. Outstanding quality, and where else can you say "I want a 5 piece mahogany and koa tung oiled neck with medium jumbo
stainless frets
" and have it be an available option? Carvin is awesome, no question.

Re: Carvin?
I ordered a V3 head a couple months ago. Easy shipping, great service, and the tone is just absolutely to die for. Easily best amp Ive ever played on. Next Id like to try a Legacy and a vintage series. Ive also been gasing over a CCT and a DC and a bolt. They are easily my favorite brand next to Ibanez.

Re: Carvin?
I just recieved my first ever Carvin this past Thursday.
DC727C. I ordered over the phone and they nailed it. I'm just blown away by the quality of this thing. Getting my sales rep on the phone was much easier than getting him thru email so I'd call if you order and work with them that way. Here she is, she sounds great and plays great (thank god, because I had never played one of these) I have a Hellraiser 7 but I missed not having a floyd on there so I took the plunge. So far I'm very pleased with this thing.

Have you ever thought about getting one? They make a REALLY nice 7 string, and the options list is huge. I don't know if they offer a trem on the lefty 7's though....but I think everything else is available.
