Conklin 7 string - Awesome , has anyone ever played one?

* * * * I've been looking at the www.conklinguitars.com site and some of their guitars are mouth watering. Does anyone here have any experience with these guitars? Are they worth the hefty price tag to get one custom made. Has anyone ever played one? If they are worth it I would some day consider getting my dream guitar made there , if it was really worth it? Any info about Conklin products would be greatly appreciated.

I did play the "Groove Tools" 7-string guitar and it was wonderful! *It went for about $600 and worth every penny. *I haven't seen one though for about 2 years. *

They do look like something substantially more than just a jack dont they :glare:

In my opinion these Conklin things look absolutely great...they have this bass guitar vibe and I've always loved the shape of those multi-stringed monster basses. And to have such a meaty look in a guitar, yet , furthermore, even in a 7-string.....

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it is a locking mechanism.

Yes, the jack is made by Neutrik. *Once the cable is inserted, the jack holds onto it and will not let it come out until you press a button on the side. *(Insert sick joke here) * Pretty cool design.

I must admit that I think they look fantastic as well. *I am a sucker for figured woods, and for blondes too, but that's another topic altogether. *They have a quote calculator on their site...check it out, it is fun and masochistic sort of way...my quote came out to $5800+. *But that would by an aweful lot of cool gear and other seven strings. *Mine would definitely have a melted fretboard.

Not much to do with 7 string guitars -- but I did play a Conklin 7 string bass last month and held myself back from buying it! It just looked so powerful!

it seems that with that locking jack though, when i accidentaly step on my cable, it'll rip something apart rather than simply unplugging my jack... *
