Convince me about the RG7321.

Im looking for a cheap 7 string to have some fun on. I want a fixed bridge. The rg7321 looks like my best bet, but at that low price im worried about how it will feel. My main guitar is an RG2550E. so im used to the good life. Is the 7321 gonna be a big step down, and feel budget like?

If you look closely enough you'll see where costs have been saved, but they are pretty good guitars - at least the ones I have noodled about on were.
You'll notice a drop in quality from the pick ups, change them and you have a great RG7xxx at a low price.

+1 for me too. I am not a huge 7 player, but when I have noddled on one I have like the RG7321. Its a sound guitar all-round really. Try it before you buy it if you can, then you will know if you like it or not.

I have one that I'm redoing into a custom. They really are great guitars for the price. Plus it's not like a Jem or Universe so I don't have to worry about bringing it down in value when I make any mods. If it just comes down to a guitar body and neck, it's worth it. I'm also not a huge 7 string guy, I just wanted one for my collection.

It's a great guitar. Just swap the pups and you'll have a seven-string that's as good as any other seven-string out there.

I'd go for a 7621 but I do like the neck on the 7321 with the white binding. Go for it.

Re: Convince me about the RG7321.

I had one for a while. For starters the pickups arnt that good by any standards. The neck is ok. it stays in tune ok. But Id really suggest checking out an RG7621 on E-B-A-Y or www.musicexchange.com as they arnt in production anymore. But are very high quality and cheaper than the 7321! Believe it or not! They are pretty close to the Ibanez Universe but with a fixed bridge! They rock!

Re: Convince me about the RG7321.

An RG7621 sounds like it would be pretty cool if you could catch one cheap. I just recently got an RG7321 and it's a very decent guitar for the money. It's not heavy at all and the neck feels good. The only bad thing about it is the pickups, but that's easily changed. Throw in some Dimarzios or Duncans and you've got yourself a sweet 7 string for notta lotta $$$

Re: Convince me about the RG7321.

7321 is excellent. Played it alongside my UV and 2027, and felt just as good to play.

If you take it in for a pro setup and replace the pickups it turns into a quality axe, it really does. Really good bang for buck, with a bound neck that plays well.

I second the setup, but I don't know exactly what you exactly mean by a "pro setup." When I first got mine, the neck was bowing like crazy and the action was super high. It took the owner of the shop maybe 3 minutes to set it up perfectly from that condition. Now the guitar has nice low action and you can just fly up and down that bound fretboard. The setup along with any other minor adjustments that I ever need for the guitar came free with my purchase of the guitar (and that goes for every other instrument that he sells). I'm pretty sure that most other small shops are the same and that's really the way to go because the owners of these shops really know their stuff.
