Re: Custom 8 string lefty (56k will have a hard time)

It seems like most people choose to do a standard tuning and then 2 low strings versus like a normal 7 string with an extra high (high to low : ADGCFADB)

yea, it's probably because low E or F# or whatever makes people **** themselves
plus, this is a baritone 30" so it'll be pretty hard tuning to a high B or A without using like a 006 string or so...
also, I'm not that great at soloing, so I don't see the need for an extra high.

yes... YEEEHHHSSS!! plus, it's a lot nicer than playing a high A string
at the 27th fret, high C that is then bending it to a D# or something, which would probably make your ears bleed instead

I'll be honest, I actually like the Agiles better and for 1/4 the price, and 30" is just redonkulous.

Why is 30" so bad?

I like it, nothing I would play, but the idea seems nice.

well you know, at the time I ordered this, there was litterally NO lefty 8 strings available,
and it didn't look like any where coming soon, and damn I wanted one, so what the heck was I supposed to do ya know?
plus, this costs 1200$ for build and shipping, the rest is hardware,
like the kahler and lundgren, and everything is made exactly the way I want in every little detail,
now at least I find that silly cheap for a custom.
an intrepid costs 675$ and has EMG's and a hipshot which isn't half bad either, but since I wanted lundgren and kahler...
(actually, the same day they came up with preorders on the new intrepid I ordered a lefty pro. mostly for backup )

and there really shouldn't be much difference between 30" and 28.675" which the intrepid has.

but thanks for your honesty mang

Well 30" to me just seems a bit overkill. also do you really think 1 truss rod is enough? The Standard agiles have a passive pickup which could be swapped for a lundgren.

Re: Custom 8 string lefty (56k will have a hard time)

yea, 30" is big, but I'll get used to it. 1 truss rod should be enough,
the neck will be pretty stable on it's own with the 11 pieces so.
otherwise I think sebastian (the builder) would have said something about that.
from the soundsamples I've heard of the agile standard, the stock Pickup sounds pretty
good in itself. but the standard is bolt on, and I prefer neckthrough
that's why I ordered a pro, plus, now I'll have one 8 string with lundgren and one with EMG, so I'll have some different tonal possibilities.
I'll post a review when I've tried them both out, and seen the pros and cons.
(naturally, a custom should be better in most aspects)
