Finally i got a RG2027XVV!!

Yes, at last it is here !!! muahahaha! ......... ,whipping drool off face...

Man, i had played one before but it was at a sam ash and the action was soo high it was nasty, but after i got mine and tweaked it i got to say that its the best made guitar i've played, the finish is perfect except for a couple of hairline scratches in the back from the stand the previous owner put it on. the only problem now is that im broke and i can't get the much needed EVO7 for it as i don't like the Tone Zone 7 that is there right now.
as for the piezo.... its simply beutifull i can't wait to get a nice acoustic preamp to drive it through so i can have my clean sound at the flick of a mini switch! Not bad for having spent a total of 400 bucks to get it huh? (well that is now counting having to buy and sell a UV, and all the grief that caused)

400? not bad. What is the XVV bit at the end of the name-what does it mean/stand for?

Congrats on the guitar! The 2027 is almost the PERFECT guitar, IMO. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine, Vendetta.

P.S. KJG mod is mandatory! And the piezo loves a little EQ and some reverb. Beautiful!

Acutally i don't think i will make the KJG mod, cause i don't really need a combination of both, but if im bored one afternoon i might do it. right now im gonna see about getting an acoustic pre-amp to send it through, but im also thinking of selling my pod pro and power amp so who knows what i might get

yeah, the 2027 is an awesome guitar... in my admittedly slightly limited experience, this is the best playing 7 i've ever had. the neck???!!! Enjoy it, man

You know what I really wanna try the piezo through? The Yamaha AG Stomp. I use all digital stuff anyway, direct to the board, because I like the sound, the simplicity, the versatilty, the ease of recording, the ease of moving, the cost, etc. So I have a GNX3 digital modeler for my magnetics, and right now I'm using a RP300 for the piezo out, but that's a modeler for magnetics. Don't get me wrong, it sounds great (Esp. running TWO high gain amps at once from both 2027 outputs,) but the AG Stomp has, instead of AMP modeling, mic modeling. I've played one quite a bit, and it sounds great with piezos on an acoustic. Very believable, with nice, subtle effects, the way I like my acoustic sound. But I'm very curious to see how my 2027 would sound through one. A nice acoustic pre. Fully MIDI implementable, too. Make all prog. changes from the GNX. Someday soon!

Hey Word....

I actually bought one (AG Stomp) and had it in a rack shelf with my other gear. I ran my 2027 through it and it sounded glorious. I ended up taking it back though because the complexity was just too much with my other rack stuff...I actually sold the whole rack off piece by piece and went back to just a tube head and basic pedals.

The AG sounds great with the 2027 though, I highly recommend it.

Killer, Gresh. I wondered if someone had done that, yet. Now I feel the need to get the AG STomp even sooner!

I know what you mean about complexity, tho. I take a somwhat different approach, being digital, ultra modern, but I just want to have my basic tone generators, link them together (outputs into GNX3, two outs left and right, into PA and monitors, viola! All switching VIA MIDI) and there I go. Carry a bag and my guitar case, and I'm set. Thanks for the feedback again.

I'm taking the same approach to simplicity in my rig, but the only problem i've come across is getting decent monitoring.

There's usually so much going on in our mix that it's a huge challenge getting my monitors loud enough that i can hear myself PLUS having my other band members being able to hear what i'm doing.

I'm probably going to get myself a small keyboard amp wedge (50 watts, ported cab with a 10" speaker and a tweeter) just for personal monitoring. I'll even get my own direct box with a through output, so i'll go into my GT-6, out to the direct box, which splits the signal to the house mix and then the through goes to my own amp.

I'm thinking of a keyboard wedge just because it'll have good, flat freqency response with no fancy EQ or effects on board. Should be ideal. And they're light, too... only about 35 lbs. and 50 watts should be more than adequate.

Congratulations on the new axe, love it like I love mine! They are fantastic!

Another mod I recommend doing is rerouting the piezo wire away from the springs, ie, taking the shortest distance from there to the control cavity leaving enogh slack to be able to remove the trem

Otherwise, enjoy! I amanged to get nice and low action on mine and it's nice to play

THere aren't many of them so congrats man!

well, i've had it for 3 weeks and im still shocked i have one. mods?? i don't think i'll make any other than getting an EVO 7 in the bridge instead of the Tone Zone 7 i have right now, and the volume knob, i hate the stock volume knobs Ibanez puts in the guitars, they are soo stiff i can't stand them. how am i supposed to do volume swells comfortably with those? ughh!

i can't get over the fact that it is soo beutifull i just keep it in the case and wipe it down when i finish playing. dunno if i wanna keep doing that, i might have to look for a player condition one so play out

Evo7 in ther bridge is nice, really nice I have one in mine. Although I'd avoid the PAF7 for a neck pickup, as it really doesn't add any richness to the neck

I've seen one chipped, which is what convinced me I had to have one, the chips will just help it look aged and played without being ugly
A good thing I think
