got my 2027x

after a long wait, it's finally at home!

it's absolutely lovely, classy looking, and the neck feels killer: never played a 7string neck like that!
sounds good also, for soloing its awesome, full, rich, with sustain, but i dont like it very much for low B riffs. in fact i have it hard to have a real violent low B sound. i'll have to put a mid-scooped pickup in the bridge position!
the stock neck pickup is ok, though i regret that the combination doesnt offer much versatility. the 5-way switch could just be a 3-way for I can get with it.
the piezos, good thing! dont have much to tell about those! good!
well, its a really killer axe that everyone must have at home heh

oh by the way, the low B buzzes a little at the 2nd fret... how to fix that? i'm not a pro so using the truss-road well... no!
would raising the action from the double edge do the trick?

Hmm. There should be 5 distinct tones available from that switch- check it out to see if maybe a wire came loose or it was wired incorrectly or something.

I also agreed that the 2027 didn't really excell on that low B- something about the mahogany just doesnt work in those registers. It's more of a mid-focused tonewood, so you don't have the high end you need for low-register clarity and "snap," or the really deep low end you need for that low-end chunk. Oh well... I'm still waiting for an alder-bodied RG7.

It's possibly the most attractive guitar I've ever seen, much less owned, though. Enjoy it

well there are 5 different sounds, but not different enough for me

i'm starting to understand how to EQ my amp to get a good riff sound out of it.
