guitar polish


i was wondering if it would be ok to polish my guitar with regular furniture polish u knwo the ones in cans which u spray...if yes then shud i spray directly on the surface or like on a cloth and then wipe the guitar

It's usually recommended that you spray on the cloth and then wipe with that. It helps prevent getting oily/waxy buildup in places where you didn't want the spray to get into.

Personally, i use Meguiar's auto wax on my guitars.

Speaking of polish, ive got a really reflective black coloured guitar, while i looks ok, im wondering wether i can just lightly sand the clearcoat to give the guitar a matt/glossy black finish.

Would this be recommendable?

I really don't think you'll get the result you're looking for. Fine steel wool would be better to "haze" your finish, but it won't be the same as having a proper "matte" sprayed finish.

I use lemon-scented Pledge, it seems to work fine
