Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

Hallo..
I know that pickguards are available to buy there in US, but, from Serbia, its not so cheap at all..so i am thinking to get it cut out from something..
But, i need a scatch, a blueprint, or something like that, in actual size, what would fit rg7620 (7 string with 2 humbuckers)?
maybe someone has some link..?
Thank You

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

Would someone who has an Ibanez 7 with a pickguard be so kind to help me out..?
Please..?
Don't You think that 130+$ for a pickguard is way too much..? and thats the price i would have to pay for transport, taxes and stuff, although it costs about 50$..
Thank You..!

Iīve never seen something for what you are looking for.
But you could take a big sheet of paper and a pen and make a painting of your guitar - cut it out put it on a piece of plastig - painting the part of the guitar you need and cut it out.But you need to be real carefully - no easy job!

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

I am not sure that we understand each other..
When i was saying cutting it out, i meant to cut it out from some piece of plastic..to cut the pickguard..or, in other words, simply to make one..!
I guess that i can find a guy to cut it, but i need exact measurments of the pickguard, a blueprint, a scetch in actual ratio..to print it out, and then, use it to cut the plastic..
Hope this helps..?
a aprecciate your effort..

Thank You for your offer, but i think that perloid wouldnt look so good on a gray nickel..
Still, could someon help me to get a picture of pickguard, or something like that, that i could use as a template to create one on my own?
Please..?

Thumbs up

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

Yuo can use Universe's pickguard as an example for your custom pickguard. I'm sure that someone here has blueprints, scans or some work drawings that show Universe's pickguard quite precisely. C'mon, people, don't be greedy and share.

Plyta, thanx..seems like that you are the only guy in here who undestands me what i want to do..
Angelo, thanx..that tutorial could be useful, but i still need a precise drawing or a blueprint of a pickguard..

I donīt think anybody will give you a blue print or an exactly drawing.
Cause if itīs one time on the net nobody would go to a custom shop anymore or would buy a pickguard somewhere else.

BTW: I started doing my own pickguard almost like the way from projectguitar and itīs almost done!
I started doing it when this thread came up.....!

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

why not take this picture, blow it up to "normal" using any photoeditor, cut out the pickguard shape, and match it to the 7620 you have, and you should end up with a perfect guide to make your measurements from?

That page below has a pretty good picture that you can use...

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

would that not introduce issues of scale? cos you would need to print off a version exactly the same size as the guitar in order for it to fit properly

Re: Help me create a pickguard for a 7620?

Ibateur, thats exactly what i am trying to do these days, cause i gave up that i will ever find some blueprints, or dtuff like that..i have found a nice hires pic of a UV777pbk, and cut out the guard from it..
but, at the moment i am truing to solve the problem Timi H is talking about..cause i need a printed template in the ACTUALL size..
Thats why i started a topic in the UV forums asking for a measurment of anything from the guard..so that i can use it as a refference..
We wil see how it wil work out..
