Help needed to buy a 7 string...
Hi, iīm new here...
I actually have a Jem7vwh (i love her) but i need another string... (iīve been playin with a sheckter c7, "borrowed")
A friend has de UV777 and thatīs the one i want, but itīs very expensive (in Argentina evry imported thing costs three times the price)
so i was thinking on buying a RG7.
Iīve been looking rg7321, but is korean. (maybe changing pickups...)
Please feel free to help with your opinion. Changing pickups, anything.
Remember, canīt cost more than 400 dolars.
Thanks so much people

Try and get yourself a used 7421 if you want a
fixed bridge
. $300 tops. Or if you want a trem a used 7620 should be easy to find for under $400. Check the classifieds here often. You'll score for sure

I have RG7321. it is quite a good guitar. if the "Korean" thing bothers you, don't be. investing on pick-up replacement would make the guitar more killer. but the AH pick-ups (stock) works for me. i use my rg 7321 live as a back up but sometimes i use it as my main. it is versatile. the sound quality depends on what amp you use. i use it in my blues band and in my metal band. it gives me the sound i want for these genres. (with the stock pick ups)
i'm an "on-a-budget" musician, so i know what you are experiencing! try it first before buying it. if it feels good to you then go for it.
but like stretcher said, try looking for second-hand RG7421, RG7420, RG7620, RG7621. (These are Japan-made)
The new RG1527 costs ($799) you should check this out. with new Edge PRO 7 trem

yeah, that was my first idea, buyin a used one
changing p-ups is interesting too, but anybody can tell me what is Bubinga?
cause it says "5 piece maple w/ bubinga" on the neck description of the 7321
is bubinga good or bad?
"Chileno", (canīt remember your nick), is good the idea of buyin from there, but maybe some family travel to USA, so maybe they can do something there. (St. Louis)
to the one that said about 7421... do you think that if i get one used thatīs all, with no modifiyng?
which p-ups do you think are good for some Metal Prog?
i mean, i need power for Metallica, but also definition when distorted for some Dream Theater...
(Thanks to all of you for helping...)

bubinga is a brown wood.
5 pieces means the neck has 2 bubinga stripes:
1. maple
2. bubinga
3. maple
4. bubinga
5. maple
you can get better explanation on jemsite
i once saw a used but mint 7621 for $600 on etray

If you get a 7421 I would replace the pups. I have 2 of em and did that for both. One of mine has a TZ7 AN7 combo that rocks.

It means it's in almost new/perfect condition.

Make contact with the person directly by telephone, verify all the contact information they give you and try to share mutual trust.

It should be fine if it's a basswood RG you're after.

Bubinga is fine. I don't think the 7321 neck is 5-piece, though. It's probably a 3-piece laminate... maple/bubinga/maple. Multi-laminate necks are quite strong.

dmz pickups will always be better in an objective point of view cos they arent supposed to be stock. then it has to do with what your ears say. an example, for now, i dig the stock pickups in my 2027.
budget=cheap
on a budget=you cant spend much money in stg
