High G - final verdict

If you've got a "25.5-scale, it's perfectly doable. I've got my guitar string DGCFADG currently (sevenstring, high A, down one step), using a D'Addario .007. It's nowhere near snapping, and I've got one and a half steps of bending to spare as well!
Truth to be told, the tension is a bit low for my taste (11.2lbs according to a tensioncalculator), so I'll be checking out how a .008 holds up next!

I've suspected the usefulness of a high G. Now, the only issues there is that you're only given one and a half whole tones on top of standard... whether or not that's useful is another question.
