I have a RG7420 from 1997 and want some info on it..

Okay, i got a deep blue RG7420 with a solid maple neck (no skunk stripe!) and the things amazing now that i set the action and intonation.. and it has a lo-pro7 on it!! I've been an ibanez fiend ever since i got my first one, a RG540P (the second one from 1989) and have always been the Ibanez guru amongst my friends for what i know and like.. which is ALMOST everything they do, although I must admit they have had a few screwy ideas over the years!!

Anyways, the serial number is: F97 27 338 ..it has black hardware, Gotoh tuners, speed knobs, rear-routed to the body-mount dual humbuckers, and the all-access neck joint.. and if it matters, the headstock is black, not the same blue color as the body..

I'm going to dig-cam or web-cam some pics and post them here in the future real soon, once people start responding and have ideas of what, where, & details on specs and etc. Thanks for your time, and I'll be eagerly awaiting your post, IM's, and E-mails regarding my mystery..

That sounds like a 7620, not a 7420. I don't think they made 7420's that year, nor would a 7420 have a lopro.

I don't think the 7420 was ever made in Royal Blue, either. Definitely sounds like a 7620.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but isn't the 7420 Korean and the 7620 Japanese? (serial # begins with "f")

No, the 7420 was still Japanese. It just didn't have a Lo Pro or Dimarzios.
