I have joined the 7 string camp. RG7621. :)

Guys,
I have taken the plunge. Behold! My "new" RG7621! In very boring black. :P Got it for SGD580 (around 300 USD?) with hard case, and its in very good condition! Hardware is very clean and little wear!

Had about 2 hours with it... did some thing quick up... check it out... I think its great for what is I would like to use it for. RHYTHM.

Full track (lead done with my trusty S520EX)

Rhythm only (RG7621)

Pictures!

And for a bonus!!!

My S520 with the venerable EDGE trem. In chrome. Replaced the Gotoh Floyd Rose, which replaced a worn, rusting cosmo Edge (original trem).

Hehehe... i think the RG7621 has to be stripped. I can't stand the glossy black finish and BLACK BLACK BLACK! How boring!

Welcome to the club and congrats, once you go 7, you'll never go back, at least for me, I have been playing them since 1998.

And yeah, I stripped my 7620 BK and painted it arctic white, after years of it being black, I got bored with it, I not a big fan of black either so I went with refinishing it in 2002. Pics- http://www.shawncastonguay.com/rg7620.html

Flobanez, you are totally correct. My 6 seems lacking somewhat suddenly.. but then again, its a honeymoon period so only time will tell.

How did you strip off the finish? I've been reading up people having difficulty stripping with paint strippers because of the clear coat?

Is the lower horn sanded to get easier access to the higher frets?

hmmm.... its not man.. i was thinking of sanding it deeper a little... but I need to do research before i decide on doing that... as it is, the cutaway should be a little deeper.

Congrats on the new 7 string!! I'm sure you'll love your 7!!

I actually couldn't swtich back to a 6 when I first got my universe, but nowadays Sixes and Sevens are all more or less the same now.

Hey guys... yeah, i felt weird when I went back to play my 6 string... like I was holding a toy suddenly.

Thanks mi2tom.

I was thinking of getting some upgrades done...
The tuners (or at least the ones for the low B and low E) have to be changed to high gear ratio ones. Gotoh delta tuners come to mind.

The nut MUST go... tusq or something I think... that would be soon.

The bridge, its a Gotoh bridge no? Would a hipshot bridge be anything different?

There was this stuff in the body shop that strips paint, I forgot the name of it, it had an airplane on the jug though, it worked so good that the paint came right off, that and sanding.

Those pickups are white Blazes, I figured I totally reversed the color of guitar entirely, but I left the headstock the way it is. I was going for the classic PWH look out of a 7620 minus the single coil, pickguard and of course neck and headstock, then I decided to just leave it the way it is, keeping it an RG 7620, which is an amazing guitar and perfect first 7-string for me, anyway.
