Ibanez hard cases...

What is the standard hard case for an RG 7xxx? Is it the M100C?

Just BAREly, but, any decent shot on the headstock end can snap the head. Not recomended.

Damn...when I got my RG 7421xl I ordered a case for it. Since none of the cases instore where I got it from could fit the neck, the guy I know there rang up the Ibanez importers here (Australia), and they told me that I had to get the M100C, they said it has been modified now to fit all 7 strings so that normal 7 strings have alot of space for the headstock and the xl less...so is this not true?

You have to remember there are 2 different M100c's. A 7 will "just" barely squeeze into the US version, since it doesn't need to, they didn't design the US version for it, we have the UV1000. The offshore M100 may have just a little more room designed into the headstock end. The ones I have are burried so I can't test it right now.

I believe Australia imports all Ibanez products from America so it would be the american case.
I emailed AustralisMusic today (the Ibanez importers here), they said that the case has been modified now to fit all 7 strings since there has been so much trouble with it in the past...I hope they r right heh, I'm pretty worried cause I need this case to fly my guitar to Norway and orders from America takes like 3 months...so by the time it gets here I will have to leave fairly soon and will not have a chance to order a UV1000. Well I have asked em twice now so they better eb right...

Kim

Thanx for ur help guys

There are indeed two different M100C's. (At least here in Belgium).

When I asked my local guitar dealer an M100C hardshell for my seven string, we trial-fitted my axe in a 'normal' M100C case. It didn't fit (unless pushing the foam at the headstock)
So I ordered a so called 'M100C hardshell for seven strings'. This case looks exactly the same as the 'normal' M100C, but is slightly longer.
My RG7 went in like butter..

Cheers,
Joten

Australis deals directly with the factory in Japan, they do not import from the US.
