Ibanez S series 7 stringer..

I am in the market for a 7 string guitar and was wondering if Ibanez made a S series 7 string with the edge or lo pro edge bridges. Im searching and I came across some info stating that you need to modify the guitar to allow an Edge because they all have Lo-trs trems. If this is the case, can you guys who have done this or know exactly what is required to retrofit the bridge give me some details about the conversion. Thanks in advance!!

Yes Ibanez did release a 7 string S series with lo pro edge. That was the S5407. Rich used to have one for sale a while back.

I think Flobanez also has one but I can't remember what model it is at the moment.

i'm not 100% on this, but i'd imagine the LoTRS trem had the posts at the same place as the Lo Pro Edge 7, so all you would have to do is modify the route around the base of the tremelo to fit it... i've done LoTRS II to origional Edge before on a 6er, and all it took was a small amount of modification to the cavity... if you can't find the S5407 then a S7420 wouldn't be a bad deal if you can get ahold of a lo pro edge 7 for not much...

I have an S 7420, black pearl, it is equipped with a TRS though, I have no problems with at all, it is a great guitar.

that said, I really liked the older S 5407 and the one Rich had was nice. I have seen a red pearl S 5407 too which are rare.

Yep, I recently acquired an S7420BP. I don't know what all the fuss is about. My came with the Lo-TRS trem and it works perfectly.

Here's a question though...can you replace the Lo-TRS with an original Floyd Rose?

Revsharp777,

Here's a link to some info on the PING Floyd. http://www.axcessories.com/proddetai...prod=axfrpingc

Don't know if they offer a 7-string version though.

Schaller doesn't build the OFR anymore (from what I've heard) and Ping is the company, under supervision of FR, now building the OFR.
