Impressed with the Epiphone LP 7...

I found a cheap Epiphone Les Paul Classic 7 today. Got it for 699 Australian Dollars, about 350 american brand new.

I have only played it for about an hour or so, but I was really impressed with it, alot better than I expected it to be. I remember now why I loved my Gibson Les Paul so much. It's beautiful to play. And the pups rn't that bad for some reason. I thought they would be utter sheit...I love it.
Next stop is to throw in a Meshuggah pup in the bridge c",)
Can't wait for that!!

Are you having any problems with the neck p'up?
Every LP 7 I've tried has had a loose neck p'up, which would often cut out intermittently.

I haven't had that problem yet...I have seen a few of em with a loose neck pup, it will prolly happen, but I'm gonna change it soon so I'm not worried.

Just ordered my custom Meshuggah pup for the bridge. Can't wait to get it! Will take a while tho...first the guy has to make it, then send it to Norway then I have to get it sent to Australia so I can put it in. Can't wait tho! c",)

Yeah I owned one for 2 years & it was great. I did switch the pups and stuck Dimarzios in there & I also shaved the neck down to bare wood (ala Zakk Wylde). It's a great guitar for straight riffing, but I couldn't play leads on it for sh*t due to that baseball bat neck. Plus, everytime I went to do some tapping licks, I'd always hit the pickup selector.

Yeah, that's a big beef about LP's. I took my p'up switch out, but then i couldn't switch from shred to blues, and it was all just a big hassle.

Yea Meshuggah get their 7 and 8 string pups custom made from a guy in Sweden named Johan Lundgren. I emailed him and he said he'd make me a pup
btw the site is in swedish. heh

I did have some trouble with my pup switch the other day so I'm planning to change it soon, also I want to change the tuning pegs, they r pretty bad.
What about any of the other stuff on it, the other electrical stuff...volume knobs, would it be best to change it all? I am of course changing the pups heh

Thanx
