Re: Insane guitar

The trussrod is there as an insurance. If needed I can add tension to it to counter the force of the strings. I don't really think it is needful to have it there since the 25 * 10 mm steelreinforcementrod should be more than able to take care of the tension.

So the thought is this: The trussrod will prevent the stone on the backside of the neck to take pullingforces, which stone is very bad at doing. In stead i will give it more pushing force to handle, which stone can take large amounts of.

Re: Insane guitar

(after a couple of minutes of thinking of a word to express the shock and suprise of how cool this is, I am unable to find such a word, so insert your own word here) That is amazing, I love the top detail, truly a rock guitar! Horrible pun, I know, but that thing could start a whole new fad! How much time and money is in this guitar so far? Its like a swirl, except its natural! Open up shop and sell some

Re: Insane guitar

I stole my mothers person-balance yesterday. Now I have the answer some have wanted on a question.

Right now the guitar weighs 14,5 kg or 32 ibs, if I remember the conversionrules correctly.

I expect 1,5 kg stone to be cut away from the neck, so i guess that the finished guitar will weigh 13 kg.

Stone Tone Guitars makes stone tops for already existing guitars as well as there own designs but they only do the tops I believe.

My buddy was endorsed by them for a stint and I played a Wolgang Special with a granite top that played and sounded great but was a tad heavy.
