Is the Apex 2 decent?

Hi guys,

the other guitarist in my band is thinking of buying an Apex 2 and Im just wondering if anyone has any experience or comments about this axe? Is it any good? I said he would probably be better off getting a second hand 7420 or 7620. What do you guys think?

Cheers

Re: Is the Apex 2 decent?

The Apex 2 comes from Asian country - maybe Indonesia - they are still pretty hit or miss quality control and consistency wise - if the 7420 or 7620 come from Japan, I'd pick a 2nd hand one of them over the Apex any day of the week. There is, or was, a K7 for sale on special at Allans in Sydney pretty cheaply last time I went in - much better axe than the Apex 2.

Yeah, I realised how stupid that sounded after I'd written it......

Saw Albert Lee playing last night - thoroughly, thoroughly humbled - any belief I had in my improvement as a musician cruelly dashed on the rocks - as a consequence, not enough sleep before an early start, and profound depression about lack of playing ability leading to hopeless use (or maybe misuse is closer to the truth...) of the English language......
