Is the price for used 7 strings going up?

I've been checking the prices for used 7 strings just about daily for the last few years. It seems to me that the days of the really extreme bargains may finally be over. It would make sense since it's been quite a while now since the retailers jumped off the bandwagon and liquidated their 7 strings.

I also believe you're right. A few months ago the Schecter C7+'s were all under 300, now they're closer to 400. The Schecter Jazz 7's have all gotten more expensive, too. I just got a 7620 for 275 a few weeks ago, and consider myself pretty lucky. Now I just need a swamp ash body for her ;-)
You can still get a pretty nice guitar for relatively cheap, though. There are bargains to be had but they do seem to be drying up, as you said.

I've noticed more of them for sale in general...seems lotsa people are turning in their 7's for the return to sixes. There's a used shop near me, and they've got 3 of them. 2 RG's and a Universe. Before, I really didn't see them in there. I also noticed at local music stores that do buy used, there have been more 7's turning up. Although never the ones I want...lol

I think it's just because the market gets flooded with some of the worse colors and the the black/grey/white are drawing more then the pink/purple.vampire kiss colors. People are trading them down for baritones though.

You got somehting against the VK? I've seen two in person, mine and a used one listed in the North Attleboro GC for $799. C'mon, i bought mine before the blowout new, and it was less than that. Anyway, mine's very burgandy, and with the fretboard and hardware looks like something Petrucci might play- obviously a "metal" guitar, but refined- it looks like a prog rock axe. The one in GC was a little more magenta, while mine was a darker, warmer color. Weird.

(and yes, i know it's a 7620, not the magenta 7420. )

What the hell are you guys bitching about? In Sweden, an Ibanez RG7321 easily goes above 500€. I concidered myself really f***ing lucky to find a shop which sold it for 550€. And you're complaining about a used 7620 for 400? Unless it's dented and scratched pretty good, and has got some functional errors, it's a bargain!

I meant the magenta color at the time, but VK always comes to mind as the color name.
