Re: jeannies pickguards

I've bought a couple Jeannies and they seem pretty decent. All of the holes lined up perfectly but the perimeter, while angled, wasn't quite as crisp as a factory made guard. Surely due to the fact that they are custom made. If your looking for something to stand out though he's got you covered.

I have a Jeannie pickguard that I got here cheap but I've never installed (an s/s/s for an RG). Honestly, if I was going to get one now I'd get one from Pickguard Paradise because they're a sponsor.

Only once, and it was such poor quality I'll not use them again.

I may just have been unlucky though as plenty of people here seem to have had good experiences.

Re: jeannies pickguards

Is it just me or does $80 for a pickguard seem expensive? Maybe for a hard to find an OEM pickguard but for just the average guard made of vinyl, that seems expensive to me.

I haven't tried either vendor but I did get a perfectly made custom routed pickguard from Monster Guitars for really cheap and there is aiguitars on the 'Bay that will make custom guards at reasonable prices.

When I wanted to get rid of the single coil from my 550 I just covered the pickguard with contact paper and didn't cut out the single coil hole. It cost me 2 dollars!

Ya gotta love the resourcefullness of guitarists

That remeinds me of the first time I noticed the giant eye hooks on the original EVH Frankenstrat for strap buttons, 50cents at a local hardware store and VIOLA!!

Re: jeannies pickguards

I ordered a pickguard from Jeannie Pickguards too. Like someone else mentioned, it fit well, all the holes lined up..... but the edges sucked big time. I'm sure they were routed with a bevel bit, but the chatter marks were excessive and it was apparent no effort was made to sand them or to correct the issue since others have had the same experience.
