Korn 7-string
just a thought. The RG7's are made out of basswood, to be lighter, so they put the
blaze pickups
on em'for crunchy bassy sound. The new korn guitar is made of mahogony, heavier darker bassier sound, so they put the new PAF7 pickups in it so that it will sound clearer. I just assume that since the guys from korn use mesa/boogie amps they get all the distortion they want. Besides, they use a bunch of distortion pedals too, so maybe the PAF7's are better for handling effects. I heard the PAF pickups are good with clean and distortion because of the wax dipping thing that dimarzio does with their vintage pickups. Anyway, that's just what I think, correct me if I'm wrong.

Korn 7-string
I got a chance to play the K-7 while in Hong Kong...
It's a very playable 7-sting. *Definitely an improvement over 76xx and 74xx but it still cannot touch the UV777PBK. *
I had no idea what pickups they have in the K-7 but they sucked for my taste. *I played it through a line6 amp but I was not impressed with the pickup response. *It has good lows, no enough low-mids and the highs are a bit thin, even after I fiddle with the EQ's.

that rg2127 looks pretty sweet... * i'm surprized that the k-7 doesn't have that special 5 way
pickup switching
the way the rg7s do... *

I'm pretty sure the K7 does have the 5-way switch. I think all of the ibanez 7 strings have those except for the entry level ones. I'm going to go to a ****** store soon, they might have one, so I'll post what my experience is like if I test it out.

Nope, the k7 has has a 3-way switch. I guess they really did not need to split the coils.
