Korn 7-string

Maybe I should post this in the comments to Ibanez...

But, it seems to me that the U-bar SHOULD be removable -- this will allow any player to use the trem in any manner he sees fit -- U-bar, regular bar, or no bar.

Why limit someone by having it permanently mounted?

In addition to that, with it being removable -- anyone with a 7-string Edge trem could order a replacement U-bar and socket and convert their existing regular trem to accept the U-bar if they so desired.

The base of the standard Edge block ALREADY has a hole 3/4 of the way thru on the low string side. *It should be simple to finish the job and install another socket.

If they made it 'permanent' I'd love to see how they configure a case you can put it in with the bar still in!!!

Small correction, MADWELL. In the "Blind" video, one of them plays an S 7 string.

You are absolutely right Doink. A 540S7 to be exact. And man did it have the crap beaten out of it. That also corrects me because that guitar had a H-S-S config. Actually now that you mention S's, I also saw Munky have a custom S7 with H-H p/u config. It was in that video...which one.."Somebody Someone" I believe. Ha. That song sucked and the video sucked worse. I was very dissapointed. (sp?)

what happened to the spell check? my spelling is terible.

You can see the vai and korn video at www.korntv.com * *Anyways, *I saw that U-bar thing in Circus and always wondered what it was. It's nice to see an endorsing artist play a guitar in his signature series. I hope they don't try to pull a JEM 555 thing and make a dot board, LO-TRS, Basswood, V-7 and V-8 kind of KoRn guitar. Not to offend anyone, but this is obviously marketed to KoRn fans like me, but do the majority of their fans actually have the clams to pay a $1799 list price?

Ok, without saying any of my thoughts about Korn...

I think the K-7 guitar is rather boring. *Sure they put that goofy trem-bar on it (which I'd rip right out) and a few other minor things... but what it comes down to, is it's a guitar with Korn's name on it. *That's probably what you're going to pay for. *I'll stick with the 2027

I'd rather a used UV any of them!
Especially my beloved Trinity...my UV777BK!

And just for the record...not with the intention of starting a big flame...Korn can't play any Steve Vai songs...watch the jam session and you'll see.

Korn 7-string

Hi all, I've been away for my computer for awile and will be back soon(I'm not on mine). The list price does not seem bad. Does anyone have a guess about what it will cost me? I play alot of Korn and the u bar would be really helpful so I wanna get one asap. Finally watch the jam session again. Their are laying down a rythm( I'm sure I spelled it right I'm in a hurry) for steve and not trying to solo. They can play solos but I doubt off the top of their heads like steve. If what I typed is gonna start a fight then ignore it so that this thread can stay open til all info and pics are. Bye all.

Yeah I agree...no fights here
I like Korn..no seriously, they have some pretty mean ass metal riffs that I really dig, and plus, whether you like it or not; they did bring back the popularity of the 7 string.

That sure is an interesting guitar. I'd have to rip that bar off too tho... I'd rather have a regular bar.

I'll have to play one when they come out.

I’m just happy that Ibanez is releasing a new 7-string model. That shows me that they consider 7’s a marketable item and will probably continue to research in that direction in the future.

Whatever they make, remember, you can always customize. As for the price, if people will pay it-they’ll continue to ask it.

KoRn is now officially a member of the Ibanez family. I hope all pointy headstock enthusiasts make them feel welcome. It would be fun if they paid a visit to the forum to give the curse filter a bit of a workout.

Well I'm sure Munky and Head can't shred like Vai. But they dont try to. That's just not the type of guitarist they are. It doesnt make them better or worse. Just different. to ME, I personally think that Munky and Head are better guitarist to ME because I dig all the crazy metal riffs and rhytm playing that they are awesome at. Don't get me wrong...Vai is amazing. But I'm sure he wouldn't be to successful say replacing Munky or something because he's not that type of guy. I'm sure he has the ability to...But to be able to create music like that you need to LOVE it. It needs to come from the heart. and Vai wouldn't fake it like that.

Haha, Bob, you are too much.
I absolutely agree with you - I'd like to see pictures of the production version(s) so that I can see what the finish(es) will be...
If a regular bar can be plugged into that U-Bar socket, then I'm all for it. Perhaps they'd even include a regular bar as well. Then, no problemo.
