Less famous/cheaper 7 string brands?

So..
I have found Agiles..and they seem to be pretty good..
But..i am sure there are many more of a hidden gem brands..like Raven West Guitar company.but they don't make 7 strings..
Any thoughts, ideas..
I need something that is cheap..so that when i pay the transport and other stuff, i can cover it..
Thanx..
I hope that i will be hearing some nice info..

Raven West DID make a 7 string (I should know, I had it before I sold it just two weeks ago to a SS.org user).

Purple quilt, creme binding, h/s/h, gold hardware. They didn't last long.

evilbay is not an option in here..
way too expensive (with transportation and stuff)..and i am to sceptical toward ordering a used guitar, unseen..too much risk!

Re: Less famous/cheaper 7 string brands?

It came with super slim springs for the trem, so actually tuning it up meant that the bridge would angle VERY high, and the action caused the strings to be about 2 inches off the face of the fretboard.

I also forgot to mention, it had the ability to split the coils with a push/pull pot, which I found fairly neat. With real name-brand pickups in it, it could, sonically, have limitless potential.

I never played much of it, due to the springs (never got around to replacing them). Can't offer up much more info than that.

Couldnt the tightening the trem screws from the rear side, that hold the springs, help..?

Nope, even when all the way in it did it. The springs just had no pull. They were VERY thin.

If crappy back springs is the only problem you had, then replacing them with some nice heavy ones shouldn't have been a problem and would have only cost a few bucks.

If you look a few posts up you'll see that Raven West did make a 7 string for a short time.

So far though the cheapest 7 string out there has to be the Schecter Omen at around $380...

Washburn's 7 string can be found very cheaply, usually about $200. I haven't played one, but I like their X series a LOT, it shouldn't be much different from them.
