I guess I may as well join in

Here is my 7421, complete with Graph Tech Piezo install:

This thread really helped me out:
http://www.sevenstring.org/forum/sev...o-install.html

although I did several things quite differently. Inspired by the sevenstring.org thread, I took photos of the whole process so someday I may get round to doing a tutorial of my own method.

Here are the important bits:

You can see the 2 small finish cracks from where I drilled the switch (entirely my fault), other than that, I'm really pleased with the results.

Re: Let's see your custom modded 7 string Ibanezes?

I've got Graphtech piezos in my RG 6-string. Lots of tonal options. Looks like you went for a vol/vol/quickswitch setup, right? That's how mine is wired, and I really like blending just a bit of piezo in with the magnetics, especially in positions 2 and 4.

FYI: You can avoid finish cracks by using a stepped drill bit. "Unibit" is one brand name sold at a lot of places. Taping the area to be drilled with blue or green painter's tape helps, too.

Vol and tone for the mags, vol for the piezo, and the quickswitch yes. I agree with you about the blend - split humbuckers and the piezos sound great.

..... or by not being an idiot. I've drilled more holes in stuff than I can remember and this is the first time in a long while I've ****ed it up!

Still the guitar is full of other "character" marks so I really don't care about this one. At least it is only the finish - the wood is fine, and it pushes me more towards some kind of silly swirl refinish .............

http://www2.arnes.si/~cegorenga11/.7620

its a custom paintjob on rg7620. the paint is inspired by the JS1000 BSB. it's a transparent blue with black spots.

the guitar isn't around anymore, i sold it in order to get a 2027X
