Re: Looking for my first seven string guitar
Search for threads on this section about the colour of the RG1527, I made one a while back and some people posted pics of theirs. It's quite a nice colour. Bit of a bland looking guitar, but kinda classy looking too. Looks could be improved with maybe white pickups & knobs.
BTW, if you have any interest in the black 1527 I was talking about, let me know. I wrote to the guy and told him there might be someone interested. I reckon he'd easily accept £330, but as I said, no case. Not sure if that appeals to you or what, but the price is pretty good and he hasn't been able to sell it after listing it twice on e-Bay. People expect way too much these days, I myself tried to sell stuff that was worth TONS of cash but people were bidding such stupidly small amounts I had to close auctions because of it.
Here's the item number for the 1527: 160110776108
It says in the auction he will post to Ireland, too.

Re: Looking for my first seven string guitar
Oh, btw, the 7620 hasn't been in production for a few years. There are tons of those around, though.

There's a huge price difference. How come you're considering both?

Re: Looking for my first seven string guitar
Get the 1527 if you're not too sure. A 7620 is also a great choice. *OR* you could save for a RG8427
'cause that's the $#!T.

Re: Looking for my first seven string guitar
The necks on the guitars you are considering are very different... that's something you might want to look into first.

I did the same thing. Got rid of my UV77MC and PWH, and most recently a PBK. Don't miss them at all. My 2 7620s play and sound better than my UVs did.

Re: Looking for my first seven string guitar
Finally photos
I am surprised how easy it was for me to adapt to the neck
It plays great, sounds great and that extra string gives extra chunk
btw what are the factory
string gauges
I ran a search and its either 54 or 56
Hell Yeah
