LoTrs 7 vs. LoPro Edge 7

What is the difference between these 2 bridges? *Do they look identical? *If anyone knows where any pictures are, it would be great to see some, of the LoTrs 7.... I know the LoPro Edge is on this site. *

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Pretty much the same differences from the original floyd/trs to the Edge/LoPro. Most here don't like the TRS7 and would prefer an Edge7 ...glen

Ok... I'm just trying to figure out which RG7 I have because I think it's either a 7420 or 7620, and since the pickups aren't marked or anything, and I checked the chart on this site and my guitar doesn't seem to fall in to any of the categories I figured if I could see the 2 different bridges side-by-side I might be able to tell a difference. *Do they actually look different physically?

yes, they look differently and are marked differently. The TRS7 looks like the TRS (6-string model) . I don' t have detailed photos of *any* TRS systems because i personally feel they are irrelevant to jemsite and should not be purchased. Also they don't come on any JEM/UV or upscale RG guitars.

I'd go for the 7620 or a hardtail... glen

That's a LoPro Edge7. You can view good shots of these here for comparison.

http://www.jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/det_tr.htm

FYI - this is setup wrong with the fine tuners sunk way to far into the cavity. The stamped writing before the fine tuners is an easy way to differentiate, along with the angled sides (ie. where the arm holder fits in) ...glen

Thanks for in the info. *Do you know of any good diagrams on how to set up the bridge correctly? *It originally had 3 springs in the back, but was impossible to tune, the bridge just kept coming further and further off the neck until it was WAY up the air, and looked retarded. *A local guitar shop(the one I bought the guitar from) added another spring and set it up that way. *Are there any disadvantages to the way it is now? *I noticed the wammy functionality felt alot stiffer after the added spring. *

Also, going from the chart you have for RG series guitars at this site:

http://jemsite.com/axes/htm_features/spec_ib7.htm

my guitar, even though an RG 7620, shouldn't exist because it has a one piece neck and was made in '99. *Any ideas on that?

A little late here, but an easy way to tell is that the TRS trem has a screw-in arm socket that sticks out from the top of the trem plate.

...And at least in the lo-TRS II it reads well, "lo- TRS II" or something...

I appreciate the info. *After reading the set-up guide the guitar plays a little easier (after adjusting the bridge and such). *I'm not too clear on the neck bow - truss rod adjustment or intonation adjustment, but I think I'm going to go to a local guitar shop and ask one of their techs to explain said concepts to me.

Anyhow, do you know why my guitar was made in '99 and has a 1-piece neck, but has all the other features of a 7620? *Also, is the RG-7620 considered a jem or universe guitar?

After 2000 all RG7 and S7 models started being constructed with 3-piece necks, 2 maple and 1 bubinga.
