Lundgren Custom Meshuggah pup...

I got my Meshuggah pup installed in my epi 7 string the other day...
I made a quick sound clip, first the Lundgren, then an EMG 707. So you could hear the difference.
The Meshuggah pup has definately got alot of bass, but u can't really hear that too much in this recording for some reason...heh

WOW, I am REALLY digging that Lindgren pickup sound! Sounds a lot less sterile and dry to me than the 707 but yet still kicking some serious ass! Wound, is the Lindgren a passive or active pickup? Nice riffage by the way, schweet!

It's a passive pick up, I got it from http://www.lundgren.se, sorry I seem to have misspelt it when I posted it...it's Lundgren.
The site is in Swedish tho...
The pup cost around 200$
Highly recommended, just email him and he'll prolly hook you up...he's an awesome guy!

Here's his email for anyone who is interrested... johan@lundgren.se
These r the pups he supplys Nevborn for the 7 and 8 string guitars Meshuggah gets.
I'm not sure what they r called, I just asked if he could make me a Meshuggah pup ...on the box it came in it said Model M (possibly M for Meshuggah...donno)

Does this PU require routing the body as with the EMG?

Wound,

can you make a clean tone recording of the pickup? I'd like to gauge the output of those things...
from your clips they sound tight and powerful, yet with a relaxed quality (which is a good thing IMHO), and they don't sound dead like those EMGs.

Thanks, Alex.

I didn't put in the pupp myself so I'm not too sure about that, but from the looks of the pick up it looked like it would pop right in...also the guy who did it never told me he did any routing.

About a clean sound clip...I'll make one as soon as I get time...sorry I'm just a bit busy the next week or so...

Here's my .02$

The lundgren is very bassy and the 707 has a little more brightness to it, and that's as far as I'm gonna judge with an MP3 as a reference.

That being said the brightness doesn't really matter to me because it does add a little clarity, which is important to guitars. I you want to cut through on a mix, your guitars better be clean, bassy is for bass

Then on the other hand having some bass in your guit always sounds cool and you can always cut some with an EQ.

In all what has really caught my attention was the fact that they are passive which means no batteries, no necessary routing and no hassles.

I'm definately going to keep an eye out for this product.

Thanks!

Cheers
Pat

If you like the PAF7, keep it. If not, try the Lundgren. But since you said you like the Korn sound, stick to the PAF7, or go for the Blaze, or a Duncun Distortion 7 (I think they used these for a while) depending on which album's sound you like. (I'm not much of a fan of their recent tones, on Untouchables or the new live DVD, but it's ok I guess, I just prefer the sound of Follow the Leader).
