MIJ RG7321?
This is a new one to me. I am chatting to a guy who reckons he has a MIJ RG7321. Is it true that this model was once MIJ? As far as I know it was Korean, then Indonesian. He sent me the serial which starts with F and continues with 00 (I guess this is a year 2000 model) and sure enough it says Japan on the headstock. It's exactly like any other 7321 with the bound fretboard,
fixed bridge
, etc. Can I get confirmation?

Re: MIJ RG7321?
I believe there used to be a Japanese RG7621 and RG7421 which were made in Japan. It's likely it's one of those and the guy THINKS it's an RG7321. It's probably an RG7421 as it shares features common to the RG7321.

Re: MIJ RG7321?
I've seen pics, Budd, and this thing has binding. Of course, the 74xx and 76xx never had binding.
Maybe it's a 74xx or 76xx neck on a 7321 body or something? That's the only thing I can put it down to.

Re: MIJ RG7321?
I always thought the 7321s were Korean then Indonesian and not made in Japan. The 7621s and 7421s are MIJ.

Indeed they are, but this supposed MIJ 7321 has me confused.

Re: MIJ RG7321?
You said the neck was bound right? Did he get his 7621/7421 neck bound?

Re: MIJ RG7321?
I guess it's possible. I'll ask him. I think he would have mentioned it, though.

Re: MIJ RG7321?
Haha, yeah. Well no worries, I got him to remove it. Looks like a 7321 body with a 7620 neck but at some point it had binding added, for some weird reason. Looks like Flobanez was right.

Re: MIJ RG7321?
This one fits OK. Not 100% perfect, but acceptable.
