My Custom RG7

Ok - well I have been working on this for about a week and a half. I got sick of my neon green RG7 and decided to paint it blue and make it look classy.

So well I got some paint and tons of advice from guys on here and SS.org. Sanding was a bitch - good thing I dont have pics of that as its uber messy.

Anyway what I do have are pics of the body and headstock of my custom painted rg7 as they are drying. I have now put on 4-5 coats of ultra glossy clear. I have let the clear dry overnight to get it solid. What follows is a wet sanding with 1500 and 2000 grit.

Here are the pics - enjoy. Btw when this guitar is complete I will put up more pics!!

Love that blue and white contrast!!

Tried to capture the metallic flakes - but I guess it didnt work with the shoddy light bulb we have in our garage.

Piece de resistance! The body - love how that blue and white binding jumps out at ya!!

Frontal nude shot!

Hm.... faux binding.

I love asses - here is my UV/JEM/K7 Jack input mod. You cant even tell where the original RG7 jack hole was! Wood putty is awesome.

Super shiny Dimarzio New 7s for the win!!

Thats all for now - enjoy

Re: My Custom RG7

The binding is just automotive pin striping I'm guessing.
