nice... when/where did you grab that?

to bad they don't have an option to "remove" that contour though - it's soooo visually unappealing to me.... glen

Re: My JP7 Lava Pearl (pics!)

I got it a little over a week ago from Donnie at sevenstring.org. I wouldn't describe it as an aesthetically "beautiful" guitar for sure... it's not ugly, but definitely not terribly pretty, other than the spectacular birdseye maple neck and one of the best-quality solid-colour finishes i've ever seen on a guitar.

The armrest, while it does interrupt whatever flow there may be on the top of the guitar, is insanely comfortable. In my opinion, it's far superior to the "traditional" Fender-style curved armrest, because it places even less pressure on the forearm muscles and tendons that all lead to the picking hand. My hand falls very naturally into a picking position.

This guitar just sings. And its piezo sounds at least as good as, if not better than the Fishman piezo in my old Parker.

Overall, the comfort, sound and playability of this guitar is really inspirational. It makes me want to be a better player.

Congrats on the new guitar Darren!

Loving the pictures, is that a stress crack I see on the neck pocket?

Re: My JP7 Lava Pearl (pics!)

There's a bubble under the clear by the control cavity, and yeah, i think that's the start of a stress crack in the finish by the neck pocket. I'm not too concerned about either, but i'm going to send the pics to MM customer service and see what they think.

I don't think EB/MM likes people to post prices online, but let's just say i got it used for about $900 less than what a new JEM 7VWH sells for at that big online store that's "friendly" to musicians.

Very nice, with the exact feature set I'd get if I buy one.

Unfortunately Donnie is losing his mind since selling all hisJPM7s

Wrong Glen, that contour kicks ass, I just got my JP7 thursday and that contour is probably one of the best features, it makes playing the guitar so comfortable.

I'm wrong that it's visually unappealing to me? ROTF.

I can appreciate that some like the contour - especially those who anchor their forearms - but please read what i post before replying
