actually i hadn't noticed they were piezo.. which i guess would make replacement all the more of a hassle

How's the Piezo?

Never really liked the look of the 2127x but this is awsome.

So do you just wipe the oil on liberaly, letit sit, sand and re do.

That's all I did. Wipe on liberally and wait for 4-6 hours to let it dry and then sand with some 0000 steel wool and then re-apply. That guitar would look sweet with a high figure maple veneer. If you have questions just let me know. Heck if I have time I could just fly across the country to give ya a hand if ya need it (it's nice working for an airline

I never liked the TKF finish those came in.

I've got a 2027xvv and i've often been tempted to do the same to that but the Vintage Violin is just too nice to do it too i think.
I've also considered getting a replacement body made for it in oiled Mahogany so i could keep the VV finished bod intact.

Beautiful guitar now though!

They were pretty rare as well weren't they (the 2127)?
Weren't they a domestic Japan only model ?
