The guitar in the pic costs 2800$ not a bad price...
I asked for a quote for a 7 string version of it with just one pick up in the bridge, that would be about 1900$ they said...

if you'd call those trems....not very functional and "appear" to just be strat styled trems. I do like the split bridge concept where the lowest 2 strings are fixed. Perhaps they are onto something with that. Now only if it was double locking and recessed.

Why does every botique guitar manufacturer always have humbuckers, weird woods, and natural finishes?!

no one plays singles anymore in the bridge position and hardly at all in the neck unless you own a strat. boutique guitar makers will use exotic woods to set their guitars apart from those made by the major makers. Dues this justify a boutique guitar price?.....not in my opinion. The stock price difference between a wood like korina and that of mahogany is not as great as most may think. Natural finishes is the easy one. They are the easiest (great for a small company like nevborn) and you cant go wrong with them (most people like them).

I read on the Meshuggah forum about a guy who met Meshuggah after a show...he asked about the Nevborn 8 strings and they said they are working pretty good so far but could be better. Fredrik and Marten talked to Ibanez 2 weeks ago and they will be making them 2 new 8 string custom guitars with Lundgren pickups.

So now it'll be interresting if Ibanez makes the Edge pro 8 string version...or if it will be
fixed bridge...my guess would be Edge...
Can't wait to see the result.

True, but they do seem to have floyds on all their custom Ibanez's. I believe Fredrik uses the trem abit in his solos...

Marten basically never uses a trem, but I've never seen him live. Fredrik uses trems quite a bit for soloing. I like the idea of a trem bridge for the regular 6 strings, and fixed bridge for the two low strings.

JEMavenger: botique often have "wierd" woods because these woods are more unique and rare. They give the guitar different sounds and apperances that many standard woods can't. The guitar at the top of this page has a zebra wood top, a wood I really like.
