New 14-String...

While this looks like a previously-covered topic, it's different. Munky from Korn had the 14-string electric made for him. I saw Korn's tech today (they are rehearsing in Long Beach, near my job), and he came in to buy a pickup for the new 14-string ACOUSTIC that Ibanez made for him. Sounds like fun. Just thought I'd share...

Got a pick and he said they are ready for the Ozzfest tour, starting in Texas. :-)

i remember hearing head and munky wish that ibanez made them one way back in their follow the leader days. they used the 7 acoustic a bit on that record and they were talking about how cool that would be to have.

Hi! http://members.tripod.com/handmadeguitars/14kasha.html
Nice to see someone else wants one. Mine is but a dream...today... 14-string custom electric with piezo and reg pickups would be so sweet. Just need to find a way to do pickups for a solid body electric. Wheels in motion at least... Nikki

What a remarkable instrument. What's the scale length?

Very nice!

Is that a soundhole on the upper bout?

I'm guessing it's there so you don't have a hole in the soundboard thereby weakening it. I bet there's some serious string tension on that tailpiece and neck joint!!

I think the hole is for the electronics...

Darn them pop invested links! Man that thing is a whale! It even has a blow hole That is one serious sound port. Bc Rich was doing that with their 7's to give it better response in the low register. Bet that thing sounds amazing.....

That is a really cool instrument! I would have it swirled by Darren though.
