New LACS 7-string

What's up fellow 7-stringers. I just got a new LACS 7 for the upcoming US Vai tour. Thought you might be interested in seeing it. Hope to see you on tour.

Dave

Re: New LACS 7-string

Dave, what's up with the lack of locking nut? Aren't you afraid of the strings coming off the nut when doing a massive dive?

Aside from that, I totally dig the looks of it!

Jimmy

Re: New LACS 7-string

I'm not a whammy bar gymnast so not many dive bombs for me. But I have abused the guitar plenty and it stays in tune perfectly. Plus, a standard nut is just less to deal with and I think a guitar sounds better without them (less metal on steel contact = warmer tone). Think LP, Strat, etc.

this is pretty cool
i love the neck, maple fretboard 7strings, and its a S series, those are comfortable to play while standing up compare to rg body

Re: New LACS 7-string

love the body, although im not entirely sure about the neck! if theres one thing your LACS all have in common it is that they're quite distinctive though, so good to see you kept that up.

dont ding her on tour!

September 28 at Starland in Sayreville who's meeting me there??? I will be there front row (getting there 3 hours early). Maybe Dave can get me back stage so I can get a closer look haha. Don't make me wear a bright pink shirt (not like I have one) lol.

Re: New LACS 7-string

I like the lack of locking nut, as its probably a good change. IM curious but did you get this ideal from tony mcalpine? His carvins come stock like this too dont they? I have an old les paul with a kahler tremolo, i removed the locking nut, and installed sperzel locking tuners..........awesome tone actually, the kahler leaves something to be desired, were it a floyd i would be perfectly content with that guitar.
