New LGM custom, prototype of the new line of LGM guitars =o)

Well, here is a picture of the prototype of the new line of LGM customs that I will hopefully be able to build and sell in the near future, this one is a 7 string, 6,7's, and 8's will be available

I love the styling, but IMO the lower horn is just a bit too thin and I don't like the added relief hook at the tail end, I just don't think it's needed and draws away from the great lines of the rest of it.

Love the design.. till it gets to the bottom horn. As Rich said, it seems a bit too thin, and I'm not too keen on the cut below it. I love the headstock and the upper horn is perfectly done, though.

Awesome stuff

Well, my thought with the 3rd scallop at the bottom, was that is where the input jack would actually be hidden, I thought about maybe it was to high, but then I thought about the Brian Moore custom guitars where the jack is in the very back at the top and I haven't really heard any complaints about that, but I'll consider changing that part. Maybe I'll offer it either way :P As for the lower horn, you're right, looking at it more, and Andy pointing it out as well, it's a little thin, I took the standard Ibanez horn, moved it back about 3/4" to allow better access to the upper frets, and when you put that scallop in there, it makes it thinner, this being the first body, I'm not to concerned, I think I'll shorten the upper horn slightly too, I lengthened it though because one thing I hate about most 7 strings is they are a little headstock heavy when standing using a strap

I really like the length of the upper horn, makes it look more agressive, and the more I look at the third scallop the better it does look. It would help to see it without the confusion of the ground/stand/etc. to really see it. The lower horn definately could be a little thicker and I'd split the difference by adding some inside the horn and out. But the styling is uber cool, as I'd expect from you

when looking at the full on photo of the entier instrument, i can really dig the vibe of the 3 cutaways, they are quite well placed and seem to have some visual balance, i really dig the upper horn length aswell, overall i think its an awesome and very futuristic look, and i love that kinda thing, as mentioned before i think the lower horn could be refined, but im sure you're on the case already! great stuff dude..

I like what you've done with it. Very extreme. Is that a quilted fretboard? What's the body wood?

I agree with the other comments about the lower horn... needs to be just a tiny bit thicker. The upper horn definitely has a nice aggressive feel to it.

I would move the butt end scallop down a bit towards the treble side... not too much. The more i look at it, the more i like it up a little bit from the centre line. It sort of gives the whole guitar a feeling like it's been spun out of a vortex.

What's the scale length? And what options would you be offering (as in, other scale lengths, pickup combinations, controls, finishes, etc.)? I don't think I've ever seen anything of yours that I haven't liked, I'm just wondering if this'll be a standard-type line, or if it'll be fully customizeable?

Well, since things are still in prototype stage, I don't really have 100% on what ALL specs will be, but as a general rule

6 and 7 strings will be 25.5" scale
8 strings will be 26" scale
pickup configs will be H-H
fixed and trem bridges on 6 and 7
fixed only on 8 strings (until a floating 8 string trem comes along)

Of course, that will be on in stock guitars, all guitars can be custom ordered and pickup config's etc can be chosen as custom. Scale lengths, I don't know if I'll dive into the baritone realm or not, probably not considering the availability of an 8 string.

Oh, by the way, I know where I goofed with the lower horn and why it's so narrow, that will be fixed on the next ones cut.

Darren,
Yes, quilted board, Alder body, lower horn will be thicker, the butt end scallop either has to go WAY down, or stay where it is or there is no place for a strap button, but I like it up past the center line more personally. it's closer to even spacing.

Wow! Other than what has already been mentioned about the lower horn, I think it looks great! The shape, the scallops, the upper horn, the headstock matches well, fret access and I really like the tail end scallop for the jack. Jeremy, you did a fine job!

Awesome!

I would like to see the bottom scallop shifted down a few inches to the treble side, which would sort of make the lower bout look like an axe or something.

I like it, I agree with the other comments about the lower horn and I like what Darren is saying about the "spun" look. I'm usually not into more extreme shapes, but this looks great!
