PGM 7 - Paul Gilberts seven string

If you go into the news section og PG's web site you can see he's got a 7621 (Not really but almost) with trademark paintjob

I wonder if Ibanez will release it ????

I actually got to check out the pgm7 in person at the clinic, it's got a chunk of wood sanded out at the lower horn of the cutaway. It's for the purpose of letting paul's hand be free as there was some obstruction before...other moods was that there was some grey grip tape situated where the output jack was. Paul likes to rest his guitar on he leg when he does those wide streches so that prevents the guitar from slipping. I believe the pickups are both tonezone 7s.

And then there's the weird tuning, the top 4 strings, 7 6 5 4 are all tuned in octaves...and the rest of the string are left to standard intervals.

Funny...
I asked Paul a couple years ago why he wasn't on the
7 string bandwagon and he said he had no use for them because he's always looked at the guitar's
neck in groups of two's ... E&A,D&G,B&E and the
7th string would throw him off.

O-well people change I guess-
that's why he makes the big bucks
