Pickup recommendations for a RG 1527

I know that these questions have been aksed so many times, but I need your help. I recently bought a RG 1527 which is a nice guitar, but I think the sound could be improved. I mostly play Dream Theater and progressive metal (speed picking etc.. = shred). Can you guys recommend a pickup combination. It would be a great help!! Beforehand, Thanks!!

A Blaze II bridge and Air Norton 7 would get you in the ballpark of the old JP tone.

Re: Pickup recommendations for a RG 1527

Hey man, if you're into Dream Theater and shred, definitely go for the Air Norton 7 in the neck. I've got one in my RG1527 and it's absolutely amazing--smooth creamy leads, lush cleans, and you can even use it for rhythm if you're too lazy to constantly switch pick-ups (although I don't recommend that).

I've got a Blaze Custom in the bridge position, and I'm happy with that, but I don't have much to compare it to. You might want to try Petrucci's D-Sonic 7 pick-up, I've heard really good things about it.

Thanks for your recommendations!! Some of you mentions the D-Sonic - do some of you have experience with that pickup?
