Pics of my finished swirl RG7

Hi guys,
Here's a link to pics of my finished home-swirled RG 7 string:

http://uk.f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/...bum?.dir=/edee

It's not perfect, but not bad for one of my first goes at swirling . It's a RG7420 with a 7620 neck and diMarzio's. It's got a TRS but with a push-in trem arm, which actually works really well (can't tell much difference between that and my edge-tremmed Ibanez's, as long as you don't pick the guitar up on the trem arm too much - ).

I also have pics in the universe forum of my purple Uni, which you may have seen, and a swirled RG 6 string body in the 'other Ibanez' forum.

Thanks for looking, any comments appreciated .

Nice work for first attempt!

I especially like the yellow and black, v. hippy trippy.

Nice one,
Spike

Good work, man!
I dig that!
Anyway, i think the colors aren't 'vibrant' like ATD's.
Try out some new FLUORESCENT colors and
keep up the good work!

that looks pretty good, i'd say. I'm not usually a fan of swirls personally (aside from the Green/black ones) but i like that one.

Hi,
There a tutorial at project guitar:

http://www.projectguitar.com/tut/swirled.htm

I've tried a couple of times and failed miserably, the problem in my case was that I could get small test peices to look ok, but when doing on something as big as a guitar body the thickness of water and amount of oil paint to use seemed hard to get right. I also had problems with the paint running as I removed the body so the half decent swirl I had was ruined within in seconds.

I'd be interested in any tips on doing a beter job... paints to use and methods of stopping the running would be great...

Cheers
John P.

congrats man !!!

I would choose a more vivid color scheme, your paints seem like pastel ones. But anyways the job looks great on my monitor !!1

keep the excellent work !
