Playing a jazz bass solo on 7 string guitar. . .

Okay, I got only one response to this in the multimedia section, so I'll post it here. Please let me know what you think!

I think I listened to these the first time you posted them. Not bad I like it. Great tone, definitely convincing as being a bass as well as a guitar

Well, personally I'm not a fan of base solos, I'm all about shed and things...maybe that time will once? So in the first instance I didn't listen it, and if I don't listen, I can't give any comments.

I now listened to Blue Bossa and, well, sounds good; no doubt about that. Did you do an extra downtuning to create this sound or what? I wouldn't have thought it's a 7-string.

It's just not my type of music, I hope you understand.

This is good. I really like the tone. When you play the bass notes behind the melody, the harmony and the tone tickle my ears. It's great. Is this improvised?

Thanks guys!
I'm playing through a 7 string in standard tuning, with flatwound strings 11-65. With my right hand, I play the bass notes with my thumb and the rest with my fingernails. These particular recordings are about 50% improvised and 50% out of a fakebook. I've come up with a better arrangement of Blue Bossa since recording this. It will probably end up here sooner or later.

I know this isn't the kind of music that most people around here realy dig, and I'm kinda sorry I was being such b!tch about a lack of response.

Thanks again!

Haha, nevermind that; it's a good thing! Sometimes we need a kick under the a$$ before we react!
