Question

Please Can You Help.

There has been so many seven string's made & I had ago on a couple dudes.
Now my question is: What the smallest neck dimenshions on an Ibanez 7 srting? Is it the Vai? Is it the others? The one I'm thinking of getting is the 1527 because I think that's got the thinest neck.Am I right?

Could you please help me because this is doing my head in.Cheers.

You might do better with a baritone 6 if you need a neck considerably smaller than an Ibanez 7 neck. The differences between the 7's are in millimeters.

I love the thin ibanez necks, but if they got any thinner you would see the truss-rod.

Re: Please Can You Help.

well...the prestige necks(1527, K7, 8XXX) etc), the UV necks, and 76/742X all have the same radius, neck dimensions...so all should feel about the same...some might be shaped dif (not that i know of) but have the same specs.

The only one different now is the 7321 because it has a wizard II...whis is a little bit rounder in radius and 2mm thicker than the ones listed above.

Re: Please Can You Help.

SO BOTTOM LINE IS THE 1527 is the thinest then? WE HAVE THE WIZARD NECK,WIZARD II NECK,SUPERWIZARD THATS NOT ON ANY 7 STRING.

SO WHAT'S THE THINEST?

Re: Please Can You Help.

i played a k7 a while back and the neck on that was pretty thin, my 7321 neck (despite being the 'cheap' model) is very nice to play also.

just out of curiosity are you new to 7's? 'cause you sound a little worried about the transition from 6 strings to 7, if this is the case its best if you tried one out in a shop first but dont fret about it to much ibanez necks are great, hell i even prefer my 7321 to my more upmarket models most of the time

I have a RG570 with the super wizard, which is the thinest neck Ibanez ever produced. But I am not sure about the 7, maybe RG7620 neck.

I still stand by the fact that all the above mentioned necks (pretty much any japan made seven string) all have the same neck dimension...check the sites and specs...can't really deny that. Some may have a dif feel/shape, but all have the same demensions as a standard Wizard.

Re: Please Can You Help.

You ask us, what you might think is the nicest neck for you????

Why don't you find out yourself.

But with secondhand RG7620 or RG1527 you simply can't go wrong. Getting new RG1527 you have advantage of new 5 piece neck that looks awesome.

It more matter of how much money do you have to spend, what type of neck do you like.....one piece, 3 piece, 5 piece.......Cause the differences of the different 7 string necks are minor. At least not something that you couldn't get used to. Ibanez are the thinnest necks in the business.......this includes their 7's.

Nuff said. Get yourself one of these and start playing.

Re: Please Can You Help.

Those 5 piece necks are sweet but I don't like the transition from neck to headstock solely from a optical point of view.
