Please Help Me Out!!!!!

Ok,

I just bought an Ibanez RG 7621(the one with the fixed bridge). And I wanna put Dimarzio Evo 7s in it. So I wanna sell the pickups that are in it on Ebay to help pay for the evos. Im sure the ones in the 7621 are Dimarzios but are they blaze? Or those Dimarzio/Ibanez pups???

They're DiMarzio "New-7" pickups, exclusive to Ibanez.

are you sure its a RG7621? cause i got burned on my "RG7621" because i didn't know better on what the differences were so i got a RG7421, and wound up putting a dimarzio blaze custom in it...

Its a 1999 7 string. Heres the serial # F9928841 (its made in Japan)
It has no model #. The neck is maple it doesnt have any walnut or bubinga strips in it. The Ibanez logo is chrome.

I think one way to tell the difference between a 7421 and 7621 is the bridge saddles. The 7621 has flat top saddles, I believe. The 7421 has saddles with raised ends where the string breaks over the saddle and it drops back behind that.

that and the pickups...

Odds are, it's a 7621, which was in production from '98-99. The 7421 was produced beginning midway through the year, which would suggest that 7621's with '99 serial numbers are a little more plentiful.

Could it still be a 7421? Sure, but since the bridge and the pickups are the only difference, and since you're swapping out the pickups anyway, as long as you got it for a good price it's not the end of the world if you got a 7421- even the 7621 bridge can't measure up to a, say, Hipshot bridge, and a set of graph-tech graphite saddles would be a great upgrade that would help even the two off...

Do the pickups say V7-7 and V8-7? What's stamped on the underside?

There isn't a huge market for the New 7's, anyway- most people looking to upgrade the stock Ibanez pickups want to to with something else, in my experience...

without the bubinga strip, it probly is a RG7621, tho thats another oddity to me, when u take the neck off my RG7421, it is stamped in the groove RG7621 on the neck itself... my ibanez logo is chrome too... but mines a 00, maybe in 00 they adopted the bubinga strip(which would make sense since they didn't even make a RG7621 in 00...) the best way to tell, which is something i learned after i got burned on my RG7421... is the pickup routing holes... the RG7421's are routed square around the pickup's tab thingers, the RG7621's would be routed triangular, but as drew said, if you are going to be swapping the pickups anyways, with the RG7X21 it doesn't matter, because they are virtually the same minus pickups, both r made in japan, both are basswood.. a slightly different saddle isn't going to make all the difference in the world... at least i only paid 300 for my RG7421, still an ok price... so i don't feel completely burned... now if i were buying one with a tremelo, itd be RG7620 hands down, but thats a no-brainer...
