Re: Post your 7-strings!

Lovely guitar. They simply rock.

Also its a RG2077xl since this has the edge pro bridge and it will have a top mounted locking nut. The RG1077xl has a lo pro bridge and a bottom mounted locking nut.

Still its a badass guitar.

Welcome to club Ibanez.

Thanks! Happy to finally own an Ibanez!

Okay! But I checked the serial on it, and compared it to the charts here on Jemsite, and it's made in 2002, and the 2077xl's were made 2003-2004. Could be wrong though.

Re: Post your 7-strings!

It definatly an Rg2077xl. I've got one myself so i know what to look for. Just trying to clear up any confusion. Here's a quick guide to the 2 (very similar) models.

Here is a Rg1077xl

http://www.antarius.com/nick/pics/gt...1077%20006.jpg

And here is my RG2077xl. (note the different bridge)

http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a3...1130Custom.jpg

RG1077xl -

Has a lo pro bridge
Has no truss rod cover
Has locking nut mounted from back of neck

Rg2077xl -

Has edge pro bridge
Has truss rod cover
Has locking nut mounted on fretboard side of neck.

Those are the main differences. Now to confirm it you can take the neck off and it'll have the model number and year stamped in the neck pocket. But those are the main differences. 1077's were for american markets (i believe) and 2077's were for european markets.

So i apologise if i come across as an arse by shoving all that in your face. I'm just clearing any confusion as i said before. I originally thought i had a 1077 when i bought mine but after some digging and some questions i knew i had the 2077.

So congrats (again) on finding a super (and rare) guitar.

Peace.

Okay! Thanks again! Haha, no hard feelings. I'm just glad to know (without a doubt) which model it is.

Re: Post your 7-strings!

Thanks man! However, problems have decided to show up. Bought pressure pads for the nut this week, and the threads which holds the low B and E were blown! And where I live a new nut is expensive! I will try to redrill the hole and re-thread it to a larger diamter, and just get a new bolt. Any suggestions?

I had the same problem with my 1527. Had to buy new nut from Rich at ibanezrules. Beware that other aftermarket nuts will not fit your Ibanez.

Okay! Thanks for the heads-up! I have bought a kind of epoxy that one can drill and thread in. So I will try to do that as soon as I can say with a 104% certainty that I have the right threading tool. I think it's M4 (metric), and Dad says he has one of those laying around the garage. If so, I'll probably perform the repair tonight. If that fails, I will try to get hold of a new nut, but it's worth a shot, since the epoxy is dirt cheap, and the nut is not.

Awesome guitar! Am I completely off, or is that some kind of George Lynch-ish axe (with the right amount of strings )?

Re: Post your 7-strings!

That sir, is the world's first authentic ESP Kamikaze 7 string! Exact specs from the 6 string ported over to a Custom Shop 7 string order with bombs exchanged for the regular dots - ala GL-20.

Funny you say that, if ESP Japan gives me the approval, Skulls and Snake's 7 with a maple fingerboard will be my next order.
