Progress on two latest projects (with pic)

Hi all,
Thought you might like to see a pic of the necks (so far) of my two latest projects:

http://uk.pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/fay...86.jpg&.src=ph

One is a RG7620 neck that I have just put pyramid inlays in, which will go with a body that I'm waiting to get back from Herc Fede (black/green/yellow/red swirl, like some of the MKR swirls that are more red than pink). Needs refretting to be finished.
The other is a neck I built from scratch, using a fingerboard with a vine routed (bought from Jim Donohue off *bay). It was a six string board so I've added some binding of white/wood/pearl to widen it, which I think goes nicely with the pearl vine inlays. It's not finished yet and so is a bit dull at the moment, I'm going to hopefully do a black and white swirl body to go with it, and swirl the headstock to match, oh yeah and the headstock is reverse.

Hope you like them - won't be finished for a while yet (depends on how long the body takes to come back from Herc, and I'm waiting on a 7620 body from the US to do the black/white swirl on).

Cheers for now, any comments or further ideas appreciated.

Rich

Wow, those are beautiful! I understand how you widened the 6-string fretboard by adding binding, but how do you widen the back of the neck? And how did you add the extra tuner hole?

I only bought the fingerboard (which was six string), the rest of the neck I built from a maple neck blank (mainly because I wanted a reverse headstock and haven't seen a 7 string one before). I have also made it a bit thicker than a UV or RG neck - a bit more 'D' shaped, kind of like my old yellow Jem used to feel.

That is some lovely work you are up to as usual Rich. You really should think about doing custom work for some people in the UK. People over here would be screaming for work like that to be done. Very impressive, keep us updated!

So true - a guy doing inlay work like that in the UK would be great.
