Putting a pickguard onto a guitar w/o one??

Ok, this I`m new to because the only pickguard guitar I owned was a Fender strat and that was many years ago. I have a RG1527 and I think I want a pickguard just to keep in unique from all the other RG1527s. What is involved with installing one on this guitar and where do I fine one online w/o having to trace the guitar? I`ve searched plenty on a source but most companies don`t know if the RG7620 will fit mines or I either have to trace. Anyone?

I sincerely doubt the body shape or scale length on 1527's are drastically different from the 7620. So if anything it should fit pretty well as the only real change is the edge pro vs lo pro, and as scale lengths are the same the space between everything should be fine.

I sincerely doubt that the body shape etc will have changed much, nor the scale length and thus distance between bridge and neck, and even if it has, it'll be easily correctable as having too much pickguard is better than too little.

tracing may be your best bet if you are unsure!

With a pickguard mounted directly to a solid top, you'll probably need to change to longer shaft pots.

If he gets plexiglass mirror then yea, otherwise, i dont think he will... i've done it both ways, and this was my expirience. And the normal plastic guard i put on was 3 ply, w/b/w. Second guitar from right... i got it done by Pickguard Paradise. They do excellent work. Just ask for a UV guard, in whatever color you want, without the middle pup cutout.
