Ouch...Korea? I'd definitely have to see it in person before buying it. I'm not a fan of that smaller horn, but everything else is ok.

-__- dude you learn to play only with standard guitar?
.....there's nothing wrong with the frets! are more better than normal...cause the intonation!
they are fanned frets! search more about it and you'll see...
(roter guitars - conklin guitars - oni guitars - ormsby guitars and a lot of acoustic guitars)

Re: RC7 mahogany and RC8 Coming Soon!
Horrifying.
If this guitar was on Ebai as someones "Project" guitar, it would be in a different thread and we would all be laughing our asses off at the mess someone made.

Re: RC7 mahogany and RC8 Coming Soon!
what I found out was that fanned frets are supposed to give you way better intonation, but I think they'll give you wrist problems too
I prefer straight frets, to each his own I guess, but I'd still like to try a guitar with this frets just to see how it feels, but I wouldnt buy a RC guitar. I dunno, they're too asymmetrical for me, and now with the fanned frets ... no thanks

Re: RC7 mahogany and RC8 Coming Soon!
The purpose of the fanned frets is not just about intonation, its so you can have a High A!!! Its known as a multi-scale fretboard. The long side is a standard 25.5" scale while the short side is a 23.5", which makes it so you can tune a .008 string to A without it breaking.
I personally would take a High A 8 string over the Low F# variety being made by ibanez/esp/schecter

Re: RC7 mahogany and RC8 Coming Soon!
my topics still going!
haha
the whole idea of fanned frets is that it lets your hand freely play alot easier without it conforming to the straight frets.
RC7
plays very nice, had about a 2 hour play (borrowed from shop and busked)
waiting to see
rc8
.... very excited.....

Re: RC7 mahogany and RC8 Coming Soon!
according to
Rusty
there are no plans as of yet to make a production model 8. Due to the difficulty making a fanned fret guitar it may not happen.
