remembering the 1077xl.Completely gone?

I hope there is atleast a few more fans of the guitar. I have the 970xl which is the 6 string version. I have been checking RIch's site and here and haven't turned up any plans for a 2003 long scale 7string like the 1077. Can someone clue me in on if the 1077 is completely gone or if it has been replaced by a comparable model. Thanks

The 1077XL is gone in North America, but the 2077XL is still in the European catalog.

It's exactly the same specs as the 1077XL.

Spotted in Toronto!

I was in Steve's Music in Toronto after work on Friday and was stunned and absolutely shocked to see a brand-new Ibanez RG 2077XLRB hanging on the wall. Edge Pro 7 and all. I believe it was priced around CAD$1549 or so.

Somehow the Canadian distributor seems to have got them over to North America.

I promise to stop asking questions after this I just got excited 2:06 AM I see two on the web for sale. However I am shocked. One of the 1077's has pics of the back of the neck. I see a bubinga stripe. This neck is not 3 piece like my 970xl??

I am about to cry.I know you guys have seen the guitar in person so I ask if there is only the one wizard 7 neck for these ?And are all wizard 7 necks on the 1077's or even the 2077's made with a scarf joint and bubinga stripe? Thanks once again.

I have the 7421XL which I believe uses the same neck as the 1077XL. Mine has the scarf joint and the stripe. I have a feeling that Ibanez has pretty much given up on these guitars in all but the catelog listing. No one is selling them on-line and I've never actually seen one in a retailer. It's a real shame because my 7421XL is one of my all time favorites.

I own the 1077XL, and it's still the only guitar I play constantly, even though I've bought a few others since... Yep, it's got a bubinga strip, and a scarf joint...

The 1077Xl is my main guitar now. I have two now, one is stock, and the other is in pieces to be sent to LGM in the future for work with the inlay king.(sorry Jeremy, bought some guitars from someone who inspired me to play...couldn't pass it up...lol)

It's a wonderful guitar, and I hardly use the Universe at all now. Feels sloppy to me. lol... And mine have the stripe too on the neck. Great neck that's super-comfy to me.

That is GORGEOUS. I really want one, especially as I'm now used to a 10-68 string set... I'd probably be pretty damned comfortable.

spotted in Ottawa

I was in Steve's Music here in Ottawa yesterday, and they had a 2077XL in stock. Had the stripe on the neck, and the scarf joint.. and the Edge7 Pro. Nice. I want. $1549 CDN.
