RG 15271 for some 500$ - is it possible??

Hi there!


Now I have an opportunity to buy a used 15271 for some 13600 rubles (~500$).

They sent me two potos:

The problen is that it doesnt have any SN and MIJ-text

Could it happen so that this is a fake?

Some say there are few IBZs that may not have a SN on the headstock, but only on the heel. Is it really so? IS there any other way to define if it is a genuine Ibanez or not?

The RG15271 has a five piece maple/wenge neck. Dots are also far too big for a 15271

I should say im not saying the guitar is 'fake' or anything, just that you should look into it more - have Ishibashi mistaken the model number?, has the neck been swapped for a different one? etc

Im not saying Ishibashi are trying to scam you - they mis-label guitars all the time, and they sell so many guitars, they wouldnt have time to spot something like the incorrect neck type here.

Before buying ANY used guitar from ANY dealer online or overseas, do your homework and check if the guitar is correct for the model number it is claimed to be.

It's not Ishibashi, it's a Russian shop, they ship from Japan as well tho.

And if I manage to get the SN where can I check it??

So... this means they buy it from Ishibashi.... interesting....

And so, where can i check the SN? (i have another variatnt - an rg7421 for 550$, and it has the SN)

Ok, i checked again, the guitar looks to be correct for the older model RG15271. My bad

I cant see the serial number on the back of the headstock. Email ishibashi themselves and ask for it - it will be quicker than dealing with your russian friends. Hopefully it is just a bad photo and the serial number is present.

Made in Japan (F) in 2000 (00).

Thats all the info it tells you.
