Pros:
-locking trem WITH piezos
-Good solid guitar, very playable
-one of the few mahogony 7's ibanez made

Cons:
-Stock pickups are said to be rubbish, and I've had a long search to find a good bridge pickup for mine (finally discovered the Blaze Custom, so it's all good now)
-Hard to Find
-Repair jobs on the piezo's if they go down are going to be a ball ache, i had to have mine fixed as the piezo wire stupidly runs past the springs, but a simple mod by drilling a new hole from the block of the bridge to the control cavity and rerouting the piezo lead solves it (and is a better routing anyway) as the springs can wear the braided wire down

But if you do find one, then buy it. It's a great guitar, looks really nice and bar the RG7CST the only floyd with piezo out there as far as I know. I love mine

Re: Rg 2027

I had a RG2127x which was the same as the RG2027x except it was a mahogany body in a special trans satin black finish. I gotta agree with 7 dying trees as it's one solid guitar. The stock pickups do kinda suck on them and I swapped mine out for a Duncan JB 7, and it just whoops @$$. If you're looking for a 7 string with a floyd and a piezo, you can't go wrong with a RG2027x.

$1100 was a good price two years ago - you'd probab;y have to pay more today. :/

Re: Rg 2027

I got mine for right around 1000 delivered.
I have to say that it is SUCH a nice guitar to play.
It has the TZ-7 in the bridge slot and a AN-7 in the neck, which REALLY allow that guitar to shine. I had the Tz-7 in my 7620 and it didn't have the attack or punch in the basswood body, but it has a very full sound in my 2027 with the KJG wiring mod, which really improves the functionality of the outputs and makes them mroe like the Parker Fly in its ability to blend the piezo and magnetic tones.

If you find one in good shape, nab it!
One thing I'm debating right now is if I should scallop the neck or not, I love the way my 7620 plays, it would be nice on my 2027, but I am a tad chicken too... anyone done this on theirs?

Re: Rg 2027

I'd get a 7321 and scallop the neck on that; or just get an RG7 neck off the 'Bay. They should be interchangeable. And one just sold on the 'Bay in the last week for about 1025 as well, if I recall correctly
