RG 7???

hey,

I curently own an Ibanez RG 7321 that I loaded with 2 EVO 7s.
I love the fixed bridge. I dont want a trem!
I am very willing to sell this guitar to get a better Ibanez 7 string and after some research I found that my 2 options are the 7421 and the 7621
Now I looked online at a 7421 and a 7621 (both models have a fixed bridge). I have never played either one of them so I am looking for opinions on the 7421 and the 7621. Please Help!

Well, both are discontinued, so it'll take a bit of hunting (but not much, you can usually find one or the other on ebay without any trouble).

The 7421 is the cheaper model, and the main differences seem to be the bridge, pickups, and neck. The bridge difference is minimal as far as I've noticed, but the pickups will make a big difference. The 7421xl is the same guitar, but with a 27" scale. The 7621 is widely considered the better guitar, but really, once you've replaced the pickups, the differences are really really small. And most people will replace the pickups on either of the models.

I use an RG7421 as my main axe, and I feel it's a great guitar. The differences between the RG7421 and 7621 are small to say the least. Different bridge saddles, different pickups that would most likely be replaced on either model, and one of them has a solid maple neck whereas the other has a bubinga strip. They're both Wizard 7 necks though. There's so little difference that I've heard you can find some 7421's that, when you take the neck off, they have 7621 necks on them! Not much difference at all, and once you replace the pickups, I would say no functional difference.

I found a guy that will sell me a black RG 7621 for $385.00 shipped. its a 97 or a 99 I believe. Did I get a good deal?
And would you say that the 7621 is the best fixed bridge 7 string? If not what is?
